March Agility Course

Horse Agility course has “kicked in”  March with a ball. The handler must kick the ball while leading thru part of the course. Great fun! The curtain is also in this month.  Start with it tied back for practice.

Another way to get a horse used to the strips of plastic is to simply get a strip or ribbon and play with draping it over your horse away from the curtain.

Even during grooming or just visiting your horse in pasture. Don’t make an agenda be your focus…the goal is to gain a better relationship, so make it fun, smile, play and don’t get frustrated, get fascinated!

Horse Agility is serious about ground skills, while having a lot of fun!

Going to Vermont

It’s going to be a very busy year. With many Horse Agility events planned here in Canada and the US.

I’m looking forward to my trip to Vermont this summer. I haven’t been to Vermont before, so it will be a great experience and I know I will meet some great horse people.  I leave July 27th, teach a 2 day Horse Agility Clinic at Stockbridge, then head to Washington to The Bunkhouse Guest Ranch for another day of presenting workshops. One in Horse agility, and I also will give a workshop in natural hoofcare and trimming and a bitless riding seminar.  After that I head up to Montreal for 2 days.

In my spare time I plan to teach my mare Zoie to drive. Looking forward to taking up driving and you can be sure I will plan some agility courses for driving in the future!

Go out & find some scary things – good source at times – the town dump! Failing that the dollar store or garage sales! Have fun, stay safe and keep lovin that horse or pony!
Looking forward to March 30 & 31st at Portage, it will be great fun!

Horse Agility in Portage La Prairie – March 30 & 31st

Good news!

I have decided to open the Horses In Motion Agility event to 2 days. I have added a day – FRIDAY, March 30th. If you want to sign up for the Friday, or switch your Saturday registration to Friday, (that might be very helpful as well to those who can only come on a Saturday), let me know.

The format will be exactly the same. You CANNOT sign up for both days at this point. We first want to give everyone a chance that is on a waiting list now and others to get into this clinic/event. Once those spots are taken, if we have extra spots left, you can sign up for 2 days. Let me know if this is something you may consider. I am pretty excited about the great response to this new activity and mode of competition. I can’t wait to show you a fun day of horse Agility! You do NOT HAVE to compete, you can choose to do this sport just for the fun and learning.

Contact me: bfenwick@xplornet.com, 466-2776 to reserve a spot or switch your spot.

Contact Crystal at Horses In Motion to book a stall for the day or overnight, first ask first get those!! Otherwise you will be tying to your trailer. There will be stand around time while others practice & compete. Crystal: neu@mymts.net

When you register your spot, you can either paypal (bfenwick@xplornet.com) or mail cheque to me: 35.00 non-members, 30.00 – members (if paying by paypal, add 1.00 to fees). Barb Fenwick, Box 248, Carberry, MB R0K 0H0 For more information on the format etc, contact me. Spectators are encouraged and very welcome.

Come cheer on your favorite horse & handler! $10.00 Lunch avail for sale on site.
